CONTEXT

My task.

My task is to make an opening stage for a game. This could be any theme of my choice, but must be the first area a player spawns into when they begin the game. This means I must consider a little context before the player begins, as well as considering where level will go after I have finished my sub-section of the level. I have decided the game I will be making an opening stage for is QUEST FOR THE FIRE STONE 3D adventure. More detail below.

What is QUEST FOR THE FIRE STONE 3D adventure all about?

QUEST FOR THE FIRE STONE 3D adventure is an adventure game. in the game the player will have to find objects, complete puzzles and go throw mazes all to find an item named the fire stone. This game will be created in Unreal Engine and I will use 3Ds Max to create the assets. Other software such as Photoshop and Illustrator will be used for graphics, and I may use Audition or Audacity for any audio additions.

What do similar game have?

Other games like my game are third person games that let you see over parts of the maze and over maze games have timers so that you can see how fast you were able to do the maze also over maze games are low quality with on unwrapped models and simple UI.

 

 

What will my game have that overs don’t?

My game will be first person where you can’t see over parts of the maze My game will not have a timer because the game will not be about doing it fast it will be about finding item and doing puzzles

Why is this product suitable now?

there are lots of 3D maze games in the google play store the one i am looking at this one named "3D Maze / Labyrinth" it has over 10,000,000+ down loads. and it was last updated in 2018. with this maze game being so popular it means that my maze game can also be popular.

Who is it for?

My target audience is gamers the like puzzle game. For example people that like to play Tetris, portal, candy crush and professor layton.

What you aim to achieve by completing the project?

in this project a aim to get better at texturing models and lighting in areas. i also want to get better using Unreal Engine by making the player stop to do something before moving on.

SWOT Analysis.

for my strengths i am good at making models and texturing them.

for my weaknesses i am not good with lighting.

​

an opportunities can work on lighting in my level. i can also work on putting sound that will play in an area in the level.

​

the threats to making the project is loss of data, Unreal Engine not being installed to the pc and not saving.
